Biography
"The UK music scene is currently churning out some of the finest singer/songwriters in the world, take Jem and KT Tunstall for example. Enter Georgiana, with her unique blend of Nu Folk and Neo Psychadelia. This is infectious, 'can't get it out of your head' acoustic guitar pop from a fresh new artist."
Georgiana began writing lyrics at the age of 16 and wrote her first song sitting in the middle of a field at her family home in Wales. She was born in Arkansas, USA to an English mother and an American Officer father. After moving around on American Army bases all over the world her parents settled in Wales.
Georgiana’s love of music runs in the family. Her mother (also a singer/folk guitarist) gave piano lessons to the neighbourhood kids. Their home was full of music and song. Georgiana always loved singing along with her mother and her younger siblings (1 sister, 1 brother). It was her mother that gave Georgiana her first guitar, ‘Gitty’ a classical acoustic guitar; that she still uses today to write.
Georgiana’s passion for music quickly turned to obsession when she found herself constantly writing lyrics, songs, and dreaming of a better guitar. Her first electric guitar - a black and white Stratocaster - she worked an entire summer for painting her mother’s stables to earn pocket money. When the stables were finished, and her guitar bought, her journey as a songwriter began.
After a spate of playing in rock bands, Georgiana found her niche. Armed with "strong and expressive vocals", she writes with the lyrical freedom of rock accompanied by the subtler sound of an acoustic guitar. Her live shows leading her audience into "quiet reflection".
Georgiana is hoping to follow the success of her first demo EP with soon to be released second album, The Scenic Route. Performing in London to a steadily growing fan base, she has demonstrated a hard work ethic and strong sense of musical direction.
